Step 1: You apply for the Fellowship.
Fill out the application form to start the process. It will take about 30 minutes, requiring introspection and reflection along with sharing your passions and goals.
On the application, you will choose the 5-day Leadership Institute that you would like to attend (where you’ll kick off your journey to become a Fellow). Learn more about the Institute and check out the Institute dates below.
The application costs USD $40. We accept applications on a rolling basis throughout the year, though we have priority and early deadlines for each Institute. Check out location, dates, and deadlines in the ‘Upcoming Institutes’ section (below).
Step 2: We review your application and email your acceptance letter.
After you submit your application, 2 existing Fellows will review it. Their combined score determines acceptance into the Fellowship.
You will receive notice of your acceptance to the Fellowship by email with the next steps. You will bear back from us usually within 2 weeks.
Step 3: You register for the Institute and pay tuition.
If accepted, you will pay tuition and register for the Institute. The Fellowship costs USD $1,500. Tuition covers access to our life-long community and resources along with attendance at the 5-day leadership Institute. We strive to make the Fellowship accessible to a socio-economically diverse population of change leaders. Learn more scholarships and other opportunities for funding. Many Fellows are financially supported by their employers, so you can check out our Return on Investment (ROI) Guide to get their help.
Step 4: We help you with on-boarding and preparing for the Institute.
After you pay tuition and register for the Institute, we will send you a Welcome Packet, personal Welcome Call, and extensive 1:1 support prior to the Institute.
Step 5: You attend the Institute!
The 5-day Leadership Institute is inspiring, transformative, and highly rated for its value. It offers an introduction into the lifelong Fellowship community and the space to start engaging at the next level of your leadership.
Step 6: Finally – you’re a StartingBloc Fellow!
On day 5 of the Institute, you officially become a Fellow and are introduced to our Fellows-only content, events, and resources. After the Institute, we’ll continue supporting your growth – for life.
You’ll join 3,000+ Fellows in 18 regional groups or virtually through The Bloc (a Fellows-only portal), Facebook groups, and Learning Circles, along with access to pro-bono coaching sessions, volunteering and mentoring, and other signature events.
